About

Thanks for stopping by The Eagle’s Nest and being interested enough to see who I am and what this blog is about.

I’m Amanda, wife since 2004, SAHM since 2009.

I love, love, love to read and am always looking for a good novel to lose myself in – I am one of those people that misses the characters when I finish a book.  I go through phases of enjoying fiction and not enjoying fiction.  Currently I am enjoying a mixture of both.

I love order and organization and cleanliness.  We live in the south in a 1960’s brick ranch home in a suburban neighborhood.  We have 3 pets: Lucy (puggle), Franklin (yellow-bellied slider turtle), and Checkers (plecostomus fish).  We did some major cosmetic work to our house when we first moved in,  April 2007, and continue to make improvements as time and money allow.

I adore the beach.

I love a good cup of coffee…and a glass of good bourbon.

I began a journey towards Natural and Holistic Living when I was pregnant with my daughter in 2008-09 and have continually gotten more and more "crunchy."  In late 2013, I was introduced to doTERRA Essential Oils and became a Wellness Advocate with the company in early 2014.  Since using Essential Oils in our daily lives and routines, our family has experience support and relief through major and minor health issues, including things like asthma, anxiety, insomnia, PTSD, headaches, snoring, allergies, etc.

The Eagle’s Nest is the result of 2 or 3 blogs since becoming a married woman and wanting to have an outlet for creative writing, sharing photography, keeping in touch with family and friends, and seeking to be an encouragement to other women (and men too, I suppose, but primarily women).  I blog about what we’re doing, where we’re going, our great city, what I’m cooking, my latest pinterest projects, spiritual struggles and encouragements, girlie stuff (think nail polish), holidays, homemaking, essential oils, photography, homeschooling, and occasionally post videos for the grandparents.
